Assessment, Research and Evaluation

Overview

The Assessment, Research, and Evaluation (ARE) Department directs the assessment, accountability, research, and evaluation services of the district.  Our Department’s mission is to provide leadership, support, and technical assistance to departments and schools with improving the academic achievement and outcomes of all students. ARE serves a critical role in this work by providing performance metrics, data analysis, and information to facilitate informed decision-making in support of strategic district initiatives, instruction, programs, and services. Our goal is to provide relevant and timely resources in direct support of teaching and learning.

Our staff members provide a variety of consultative services to school sites and district departments including but not limited to program evaluation, use of assessment data to improve instruction, and design of surveys. Research, evaluation, and surveys conducted in the district must be reviewed and approved through the Assessment, Research and Evaluation Office.
