District Approves Tentative Agreement With Teachers' Union

In our effort to make investments to provide students with an equal opportunity to graduate with the greatest number of postsecondary choices from the widest array of options, we are pleased to share that at the September 7th Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously in support of ratifying a three-year agreement with United Professional Educators—a critical labor partner in helping us work toward our goals for improving student achievement.

Learn about 2018-2019 Kindergarten Registration

Parents may register students for kindergarten at their neighborhood school January 16, 2018 – January 30, 2018. After January 30, kindergarten registration will be ongoing at the SCUSD Enrollment Center. 

Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2018 to register for fall kindergarten.

Historic Agreement to Increase College Entrance and Graduation Rates Signed by Sac City Unified and Region’s Leading Higher Education Institutions

SACRAMENTO, CASacramento City Unified School District announced today a major new agreement with U.C. Davis, Sacramento State, U.C. Merced, and the Los Rios Community College District to collect and share data that will enable the district to identify the challenges that prevent students from obtaining a high school diploma and transition successfully to a college or university.

SCUSD 8th Graders Attend Choose Your Future Expo

More than 2,670 eighth grade students participated in a field trip to learn about the 30 programs in 12 Sac City Unified high schools. In addition, 150 families attended an evening event for parents and students to learn about high school choices and to help launch the new high school online application process. It was the first ever high school exposition in the district.

They received three Sweepstakes Awards (first place overall among all bands) in Field Show with a score of 93.57; Auxiliary with a 95, and General Effect with a 233.5. JFK also received an overall 2nd in Percussion and 3rd in Brass.

On Sunday December 3, Pony Express Elementary students along with their teacher Ms. Alejandra Arellano participated in the California International Marathon MaraFUNrun 5K.  The students ran for the Runnin’ for Rhett organization. The district is very proud to recognize these students for their commitment to supporting other students in need.

Visitation presentations begin at 9:00 in the Library.

Parking will be available through the gates on J Street. There will be a presentation in the library located on the 2nd floor, followed by a self-guided tour. The presentation will take approximately 45 minutes.
