New Teacher Support

New Teacher Support

Overview

Congratulations on the beginning of your new career!

You are now part of a team of educators who are serving the nearly 43,000 (as of 2/19) students who attend our schools. As teachers, you have an important role in making a difference in the lives of our students, helping students achieve their goals and in helping us achieve our goals as a district: College and Career ready students; Safe, Clean and Healthy Schools; and Family and Community Engagement.

Research on student achievement shows that teacher expertise is the single most important factor for student learning. You are a significant factor in the educational outcomes for your students. You are not alone. Through the New Teacher Support Department you will receive on-going, job-embedded support and reflection opportunities of your teaching to help you grow in your professional practice. Your journey will include experiences and give you confidence in your skills as an educator.

Teaching is a very rewarding profession, and it can also be challenging, especially in the early years. Our office is here to support you along the way.

Thank you for all that you do and are going to do for the students and families of our district in the years ahead. Our students deserve the best. You deserve the best.

We provide support for new teachers on various paths, click on the path you have chosen to see the various support we have to offer:

  • Induction (You hold a Preliminary Teaching Credential)
  • Pre-Induction (You hold a Short-Term Staff Permit or an Intern Credential)

We look forward to sharing the journey with you.
