Filing a Complaint with the District

Where do I start?

Start by addressing your concern directly with the individual involved, either by phone or by requesting a face-to-face meeting. Disputes and misunderstandings are often best resolved in person and can frequently be attributed to miscommunication. Many times, a courteous conversation at the school level can clarify misunderstandings or resolve issues effectively.

What If I still have concerns?

You may feel you were unable to resolve the issue with the individual. In this case, you should schedule a meeting or phone call to discuss the situation with your school’s assistant principal or principal. Concerns related to administration (assistant principal or principal) should be directed to the district personnel department.

And if my concerns have still not been resolved?

If you still feel unsatisfied with the resolution after following the steps outlined above, including discussing the situation with the principal, please contact the district personnel department at (916) 643-7446. If you have not yet taken these steps to address the issue with the school, you may be directed back to the school site for further assistance.

Filling a Formal Complaint

Even after following the steps above, some issues may need to follow a more formal process. Depending on the issue, there are different types of complaints individuals can file. Expand each section below to determine which complaint your concern falls under.

Withdrawal of Formal Complaint

I would like to formally withdraw my complaint, as the issue has been resolved to my satisfaction and no further action is necessary at this time.  Complaint Withdrawal Form
