Dual Immersion Programs

Give your child a competitive edge in the global economy by enrolling them in one of SCUSD’s language immersion programs. In language immersion classrooms, students have the enriching experience of becoming bilingual and biliterate in English and another language — Chinese, Hmong, or Spanish.

Language immersion is a method of teaching a second language in which the target language is used for instruction. Target language is defined as a language other than English. By way of a language immersion program, students will receive instruction where English and the target language are used as teaching tools and students are “immersed” in the second language.

Enrollment in a Dual Immersion Program

Students can apply for a dual immersion program, through the district's Open Enrollment process or through a district permit.
