Welcome and thank you for visiting the department where the goal is to meet or exceed your expectations. The Matriculation & Orientation Center is the district’s centralized registration office for in-take of new language minority students to Sacramento City Unified School District.
The MOC provides Assessor-Translators who perform numerous language-related services linking parents to district programs. Languages are available in Spanish, Hmong, Chinese, Farsi, Pashto, Dari, Russian and Vietnamese.
Services Offered at the MOC Center

Registration of bilingual students new to SCUSD.

Administration of the Initial ELPAC to bilingual students new to California during July and August only.
- Written translations of all district–wide documents and procedures in Spanish, Hmong, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
- Verbal interpretation services for IEP/SST Meetings, Community Meetings, Student Hearings, etc.
- Coordination of Interpretation services at SCUSD by providing training for Bilingual Interpreters and a resource list of Possible Interpreters for use by SCUSD school sites and departments
- Translations of foreign High School transcripts in Spanish, Hmong, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
- Referral of parents to various community resources as needed, such as health clinics, adult school, preschool, etc.
In an effort to provide better service for your interpretation needs, the Matriculation and Orientation Center has put together a list of possible interpreters who may be able to assist your school or department after their regular work hours. It is the responsibility of the requesting site or department to contact these interpreters and pay for their services (minimum 2 hour charge per assignment).
