Summer Matters Elementary Program

Summer Matters Elementary Program is a 19-day summer learning program that provides incoming K–6th grade students with a meaningful and engaging experience designed to reduce summer learning loss, strengthen academic skills, and help students prepare for a successful transition into the 2026–2027 school year.

For Incoming K-6th Grade Students

Dates: June 22 – July 17
Time: Monday- Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No program will be held on July 3 in observance of July 4th.

  • Academic intervention (8:00am-12pm) and enrichment (12:30pm-5:00pm) to minimize learning gaps & reduce summer learning loss.
  • All students will be provided with free daily breakfast, lunch, and a snack as part of the program.
  • Students may enroll at any Summer Matters Elementary location.
  • Families are responsible for transportation to and from the program.

Application Timeline

  • Application Deadline: May 8, 2026
  • Eligibility Requirement: Students must be currently enrolled and  attending a Sac City Unified school to be eligible for our summer programs.
  • Parent Notification: May 26 – June 11
  • Parent Orientation: Starting June 15, varies by site
