The SCUSD Expanded Learning Program is searching for highly motivated current sophomore, junior and senior students to serve as Ambassadors/Peer Mentors at the elementary and middle school program sites. Ambassadors/Peer Mentors will assist with projects and lead activities specific to their assigned program site. If selected for a position, all Ambassadors/Peer Mentors will be paid an hourly wage.

Pay Rate:  $16.50/hour

Youth Employment Requirements

  • Be a current SCUSD high school student. 
  • Be available for interviews. Interviews will be conducted virtually the week of October 6th.  
  • If selected, Ambassadors/Peer Mentors must have a completed SCUSD Employee Hiring Packet. completed and submitted by October 17th, 2025
  • Attend the mandatory Ambassadors/Peer Mentors Trainings.
  • Ambassadors/Peer Mentors must be prepared to work up to 4 hours a day. Programs run Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm.

Youth Employment Information

  1.  Application deadline: September 26, 2025.
  2.  Interviews: Week of October 6, 2025
  3.  Hiring packet due (if selected): October 17, 2025
  4.  Mandatory Training Date: November 8, 2025 (In-Person)

Youth Employment Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with meal distributions.
  • Assist with parent pickup.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Help each student get the maximum Expanded Learning experience.
  • Other classroom duties as assigned.

Applications for the 25-26 school year are due Friday, September 26, 2025.
