The SCUSD Expanded Learning Program is searching for highly motivated freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students to serve as Ambassadors/Peer Mentors at the elementary, middle, and high school program sites. Ambassadors/Peer Mentors will assist with projects and lead activities specific to their assigned program site. If selected for a position, all Ambassadors/Peer Mentors will be paid an hourly wage.

Pay Rate:  $16.90/hour

Youth Employment Requirements

  • Be a current SCUSD high school student. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.  
  • Be available for interviews. Interviews will be conducted virtually the week of September 14th, 2026. 
  • If selected, Ambassadors/Peer Mentors must have a completed SCUSD Employee Hiring Packet. 
  • Attend the mandatory Ambassadors/Peer Mentor Trainings.
  • Ambassadors/Peer Mentors must be prepared to work up to 4 hours a day. Programs run Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm.

Youth Employment Information

  1.  Application deadline: September 11th, 2026.
  2.  Interviews: Week of September 14th, 2026. 
  3.  Hiring packet due (if selected): September 25th, 2026.
  4.  Mandatory Training Date: January 2027 (In-Person, DATE TBD).

Youth Employment Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with projects and activities, as determined by the site Expanded Learning Program Manager. 
  • Help each student get the maximum Expanded Learning experience.
  • Assist with meal distributions.
  • Assist with parent pickup.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Other classroom duties, as assigned.
